Writing is the worst.
I would post this as a 9 word comment on facebook, but I’m friends with my main professor there now, so I have to curate the shit out of that content.
I am just about fucking over this Statement of Purpose. This is easily the most horribly taxing document I have ever spent time on, and I’m beginning to think it gets worse with each revision. How the FUCK am I supposed to tell you everything I want to study, what I’ve done so far, mention the things that let the program know that I know what’s happening in the field, and explain what kind of teacher I am in 600 words?
Applying to PhD programs shouldn’t be utterly demoralizing until you start getting the rejection letters. But, here I am, in November, about to cry into my wine glass about some shitty 3 page (yes, it’s still way too long) document.
